Best known as the guitarist/singer for Taking Back Sunday, Fred Mascherino has been recording in studios for over three decades.  Playing in his early bands and often finding himself to be the primary songwriter, Fred quickly discovered his love for writing and arranging.  His writing eventually led him to be part of making two gold records and to working with some of the biggest producers in the business.  Fred started producing on his own 10 years ago and has built Diver Down to use all he learned to help other bands reach their vision.

Stephen found his love for music at a very young age. Shortly after he wrote his first song, he knew he wanted to create music for the rest of his life. “I’ve always been fascinated by great songwriters, the way they can express something so intimate but make it accessible to everyone is truly inspiring.”  Whether it’s mixing, producing, or engineering, Stephen is passionate to help each artist reach inside and create something they didn’t think was possible.  After years of working with various artists, Stephen partnered with Fred Mascherino and Diver Down Studios with the hopes of pushing things to another level.  “Fred is a fantastic producer who's determined to elevate artists no matter what it takes; I want to be part of that.”  With diverse backgrounds and complementary skill sets, Fred and Steve, offer a two-punch combo that provides decades of combined experience from two unique perspectives.
